Scorpion marketing reviews: what practices should know before signing

What Scorpion offers healthcare practices, what's public about its pricing and contracts, questions to ask before signing, and alternatives. Sourced and dated.

By Medfy Editorial TeamUpdated Facts verified 6 min read

Scorpion is a marketing company that serves medical practices and health systems alongside home services, legal and franchise businesses. People researching "scorpion marketing reviews" usually want two answers before signing: how long the contract runs and what they own if they leave. This page doesn't rate Scorpion or characterize its customers' experience. It sets out what Scorpion publishes on both questions, what it doesn't, and the checks that apply to any agency.

What Scorpion offers healthcare practices, as published

Scorpion's home page (opens in a new tab) describes its work in three areas: technology, advertising and marketing. Its tagline names home services, legal and franchise companies, and its industry list adds Medical, Platforms & Multi-Location, and Hospital & Healthcare Systems.

For medical practices. Scorpion's medical page (opens in a new tab) names dentists (general, pediatric and cosmetic), chiropractors, veterinarians and pediatrics, and describes:

  • custom, mobile-first websites;
  • "AI-backed SEO";
  • paid ads;
  • review building;
  • AI chat, online scheduling and lead tracking on the website;
  • tracking of calls, clicks and conversions in one place.

For hospitals and health systems. Its healthcare page (opens in a new tab) adds websites built for multiple locations, campaigns per facility or service line, centralized lead tracking, CRM integrations and "fully branded video content from scripting through production." It says a new website typically takes four to 10 weeks to launch.

Pricing and contracts: what's public

Ownership: website, domain, ad accounts and data

Scorpion answers the ownership questions directly in the same healthcare FAQ:

  • Website: "Yes, you own your website after the length of your contract with Scorpion is complete." You don't own the underlying content management system (CMS), which is Scorpion's own; domains, content and imagery are yours.
  • When you leave: after the contract is fulfilled, Scorpion transfers ownership of key accounts, including Google Analytics, Google Local Services Ads, social media accounts and website content. You receive the site's static files, design assets and content, and would rebuild on a CMS of your choice.
  • Analytics: your business "will continue to own and have access to your Google Analytics."
  • Google Ads account and ad spend: not addressed in the FAQ. Ask whose account it is and who is billed.
  • Patient data: not addressed. If the website forms, chat or scheduling will collect health information, ask whether Scorpion will sign a BAA. Under HIPAA, a vendor that creates, receives, maintains or transmits protected health information (opens in a new tab) for your practice is a business associate.

Last verified October 23, 2026. The proprietary-CMS point matters at exit: you keep the content and design, but plan for a rebuild on a new platform.

Who a full-service agency fits best

When Scorpion or another full-service agency is the better fit

  • Video and creative production. Scorpion lists branded video from scripting through production. Software platforms, Medfy included, don't film your team or your facility.
  • Multi-location brand campaigns. Scorpion lists Platforms & Multi-Location and health systems with multiple locations among the industries it serves. Groups that need campaigns per location or service line often need a team.
  • Done-for-you across channels. A practice that wants one firm to run the website, SEO, ads and reviews, with a project manager, may prefer an agency to software.
  • Comfort with a 12-month term. If you plan to stay for at least a year, a term contract for technology and SEO may not be a drawback.

For the broader trade-offs, see healthcare marketing agencies.

Where Medfy fits

Medfy is a platform with add-ons, not an agency. The base plan is $349/month and covers your website rebuilt and hosted on your own domain, automated SEO, AI visibility tracking, first-party analytics, Google reporting, an AI CMO dashboard and a patient CRM and inbox. Add-ons are Google Ads management ($199/month), Meta ads and AI creatives ($199/month) and a HIPAA AI chat widget ($49/month). It's billed monthly and you can cancel anytime. Ad spend is paid directly to Google and Meta, never marked up. Medfy signs a BAA with every practice.

Medfy isn't the right fit if you need video production, multi-location features, call tracking numbers or organic social media posting. See Medfy pricing for details.

Questions to ask before signing any agency contract

These apply to Scorpion and to every other agency. The full agency contract checklist explains what a good answer looks like.

  1. Term per service. Which services carry a fixed term, how long, and which are month-to-month?
  2. Renewal and exit. Does the contract renew automatically? How much notice ends it? Is there an early-termination fee?
  3. Website and CMS. When do we own the site? If the platform is proprietary, what exactly do we receive at exit, and in what format?
  4. Domain. Is the practice the registrant from day one?
  5. Ad accounts. Are the Google Ads and Meta ad accounts in the practice's name? Is ad spend billed by Google and Meta directly to us, or through the agency, and is it marked up?
  6. Data. Do we keep admin access to Google Analytics, call and lead data, and form submissions?
  7. BAA. Will the agency sign a BAA before any forms, chat or scheduling collect patient information?
  8. Reporting. Which results are reported, how often, and from which data source?

Frequently asked questions

Does Scorpion work with medical practices?

Yes. Scorpion's site lists Medical and Hospital & Healthcare Systems among the industries it serves, alongside home services, legal and franchise businesses. Its medical page names dentists, chiropractors, veterinarians and pediatrics, and describes websites, SEO, paid ads, reviews, AI chat and lead tracking. Its health-system page adds multi-location websites and branded video production.

How long are Scorpion's contracts?

Scorpion's healthcare page says it typically requires a 12-month contract for its marketing technology and certain marketing services, such as SEO, while digital advertising services like Google Ads, Local Services Ads and Meta are typically month-to-month. Your proposal sets the actual terms, so confirm the term, renewal and notice period for each service in writing.

Who owns my website if I leave an agency?

Whatever your contract says. Scorpion, for example, says you own your website once your contract term is complete, including domains, content and imagery, but not its proprietary content management system; you receive static files and design assets and would rebuild on another platform. Ask every agency the same question before signing, and get the answer into the contract.
