How Medfy researches and writes its guides

How the Medfy editorial team researches, sources, dates and corrects its marketing guides for medical practices, and how we use AI in that work.

Who writes the guides

The guides on medfy.ai are written by the Medfy editorial team for owners and managers of independent medical practices in the US and Canada. Medfy sells marketing software to those practices, so we have a commercial interest in the topics we cover. We say where Medfy fits only in the sections that are about Medfy, and we state its features and prices exactly as they are on our pricing page.

How we research

  • Primary sources first. Rules and policies come from the source that sets them: HHS and the eCFR for HIPAA, the FTC and FDA, state legislatures and licensing boards, Canadian privacy commissioners, Google Ads and Business Profile help, Meta's Transparency Center, and each vendor's own HIPAA or BAA documentation. Each source is linked where it is used and listed at the end of the page with the date we accessed it.
  • Our own data, labeled. Search volumes and costs per click come from Google Ads Keyword Planner via DataForSEO and are attributed with the country or market and the date range every time they appear.
  • No invented numbers. We don't publish statistics, fines, case outcomes, testimonials or results we can't source. Examples of ads, messages and reviews are for fictional practices and are labeled as illustrative.

How we use AI

We use AI models to research and draft. Every claim about a law, a platform policy, a vendor or a number has to trace back to a source linked on the page, and pages go through automated checks for sourcing, links, banned claims and required disclaimers before they are published. We don't publish AI-written medical advice: these guides are about marketing and privacy, not diagnosis or treatment.

Dates and verification

Every guide shows when it was last updated. Pages whose facts change — vendor HIPAA terms, ad policies, state rules, comparisons — also show when their facts were last verified, and we re-check those at least every six months.

Corrections

If you find an error or an outdated fact, email hello@medfy.ai with the page address. We correct verified errors and update the page date.
